Mike Chapman, local fingerpicking and blues genius played the pavilion as a warm-up for his UK tour. As such, one might have expected a reserved performance but the small audience which listened on this cold Autumn night might have been forgiven for thinking he was on his final performance. Having played here before, Mike had a lot of local support. While singing many numbers he is at his finest when playing his wonderfully crafted instrumentals. Each song is drawn from his experiences, both local and abroad having toured extensively since the sixties, particularly in America.

Although Rita Hosking is new to the pavilion she has visited these shores before. Hailing from the mountains of Oregon she gave the audience a real treat with her homespun melodic yarns about dishwashing and demolition derbies. The main tour de force however was when Rita and Michael joined forces for the final numbers. Michael played improvisational solos over Rita's country style singing to bring the evening to a heartwarming close.
